Buonsoir a tous!
Je vais écrire en anglais, parce - que c'est plus facile pour moi.

With this video I want to show you what I do with a crutch, ableton live and other effects processors and loopers.
I play the crutch (a common crutch normally used to help walking) as many different musical instruments: didjeridoo, persian ney, bulgarian kaval... And some strange horns and whistles (always played with didje/trumpet and ney/kaval techniques).
In the last years I studied so many wind instruments and always saw them in a very "nude" way, always trying to respect the traditions they come from but being very interested in the shape itself, the "nude soul" of the different instruments and objects found on the way.
By this point of view any object, even the ones linked to unpleasant memories and life situations, become musical instruments, bringer of happiness and pieces of art themselves.
In the end I found in ableton live, vocal effects processors and loopers very good fellas to play with. Very good supports to express in a structured and musical way what, in the beginning, was pretty much an experimentation game rather than a composition.
Some technical infos: in this track I pull apart the different pieces of the crutch, obtaining a didjeridoo, a D overtone flute, a D nearly chromatic kaval, some horns, some whistles. I use ableton live 8 as a loop station and multi effetcs unit controlled by akai apc40 midi controller and, as an external device, tc helicon voicelive touch (fx + looper).
Merci, et donne moi un feedback!
Je vous souhaite une bonne fin d'année,
Francesco Gibaldi
